The love for one's child is boundless – as are the worries that arise when they are not well. Dr. Karl Engelhard experienced this firsthand in the 1940s: His daughter Gloria contracted whooping cough, and none of the usual treatments provided relief. Fear for his child kept the pharmacist from finding peace, so he began to search for a solution himself – and his tireless commitment to his daughter's well-being was rewarded. After intensive research and many experiments, he discovered the special power of ivy for severe respiratory infections.

We work for health

The initial experiments were promising, so Dr. Karl Engelhard pooled all available resources in a specially assembled research team – and promising results followed. Together, they succeeded in producing a special extract in a drop form that enabled Gloria to recover quickly.

Thanks to this pioneering work, Prospan® was launched on the market in 1950. Through ongoing research in the field of phytotherapy, the formula has undergone continuous development over the years.
